Android: install a USB driver manually

In this tutorial I explain how to install a USB driver for a smartphone or Android tablet in manual mode if your manufacturer does not offer USB driver for your version of Windows. With free utilities like Moborobo, My phone explore, you can manage your Android smartphone from your computer or through a Wi-Fi or a USB cable, sometimes by Bluetooth to synchronize your data between your Android smartphone and a computer (here we use a USB cable).

Personally I prefer to synchronize my smartphone contacts in Microsoft Outlook and vice versa. To do this manipulation your smartphone must be supported by your operating system. But sometimes Windows does not recognize your Android smartphone if it can not find a compatible driver. In this situation you can usually find the USB drivers from manufacturers website, but it is not always enough. In my case I have a Micromax smartphone and Windows 8.1 Pro finds no driver installation: My smartphone does not work on my Windows 8.1.

Moborobo the software does not recognize my Android smartphone:

If you are in this situation I suggest you install a generic Google driver. First download Google USB driver (check "I have read and AGREE with The Above terms and conditions" and click "Download Google USB Driver"): Link  download

Unzip Google USB Driver with software such as WinRAR or 7zip:

Before you connect your device you must enable "Debug mode" on your device, go to settings and "Developer options":

Check "USB debugging"

You can now connect your Android smartphone to your computer via USB cable provided with your smartphone.

then go to the Windows Device Manager and find your smartphone that appears annotated a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. Right-click and "Update Driver":

You can search for a driver automatically but if this fails choose "Browse my computer for driver":

Now click on "Select from a list of device drivers on my computer":

"Afficher tous les périphériques" et "Suivant" :

"Show all devices" and "Next":

"Disque fourni"

"Disk"

Click "OK" and select "Android ADB Interface" then "Next":

Now a window notifying you that not recommended installation because Windows was unable to verify its compatibility etc ... but I trust Google so I click "YES". And that's all, and Google USB driver is now installed on your computer.

Finally my Android Smartphone is detected by the software and Moborobo I can handle my Android Smartphone from my computer via USB.

And that is all. With Google and its generic USB driver was successfully installed our Android Smartphone.
